This volume of 51 meditations was written by Gerhard and published in 1606, when the author was 21 years old. It is the work of a young man that blends Scriptural knowledge, pastoral care, liturgical devotion, spiritual insight as well as the proper distinction and application of Law and Gospel. These meditations bring Christian comfort and peace to even the oldest of its readers … or hearers.
